ENNISCOE HISTORIC GARDENS
At
Enniscoe there is a Victorian walled garden, an organic walled
garden and 19th century pleasure grounds that extend to the shores
of Lough Conn.
The walled garden dates back to the early 18th
century. However, the present focus of the garden is on the Victorian
period with plants of that era, and on the many fine architectural
features that have been restored under the Great Gardens of Ireland
Restoration Programme.
Step
back in time and discover the history and wonderful characteristics
of this notable walled garden. Walk along the pathways of the pleasure
grounds that lead to the lakeshore, or take the nature trail through
the old woodland.
The gardens are open to the general public on week days 10.00 to
18.00; Saturdays and Sundays 14.00 to 18.00, from 30th March to
31 October.
Admission: Adults €6.00, Children €2.50
Visitors staying at Enniscoe can access the gardens
at all times, free of charge.
